EARLY DAYS

Just post puberty I stumbled across some portraits of my great aunts and grandmothers, decked out in their post war investments. One of my aunts, Marlene Taylor happened to be one of Chicago’s few chorus and showgirls. These wonderful glimpses into performance life spurned my long-term nefarious relationship with pasties, glamour and glitz.

Taking stage for the first time in 2002 for the Sissy Butch Brothers’ event series “Gurlesque Burlesque” I was given the prime opportunity to participate in the largest sweep of the burlesque revivalist movement. My performance art background and their focus on critique and act development gave me a wonderful place to grow as a choreographer and performer. Six wonderful years later, the event series culminated in the much anticipated release of the “Exotic World The Movie”

It wasn’t long before I’d hit the road and began to tour to performing burlesque around the country and eventually internationally.

From Miss Exotic World to The New York Burlesque Festival to San Francisco’s Supperclub, the US was eager for dynamic shimmy-shaaing! And I was ready to deliver, completely wrought with glass beading,  sequins and naughtiness.

With an aversion to subtly, VonLivid became my hyperHOT alterego du jour. It’s been true love ever since.

With a decidedly kinky bent and a background in clothing and costume design, my show style took a turn – becoming even more extravagant with a supporting cast of some of the most amazing ladies in the industry. From Copenhagen to Germany to England to Jamaica, I’ve performed on some of the largest as well as quaintest stages in the North America and Europe.
